I'm having a problem with the files being stored to the SD card on my Spectra Precision Epoch 35. When logging a static session I store it directly to the SD card rather than having the file logged to the collector via bluetooth; I prefer this because I only have to worry about the battery life on the receiver and I've had issues with Survey Pro crapping out on me while logging static data.

Here's my issue: The date of the file on the SD card always defaults to either 12/31/1979 or 1/1/1980. The time is also way off from when I actually started logging the file. I have an Epoch 50 too which logs data internally rather than an SD card, and I have no issues with those files being dated correctly. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Is this an SD card issue or receiver issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Wes

Spectra has a program that you need to install. You can hook up your GPS and change the date that way. I don't believe there is anyway of doing it thought the menu or the data collector. Email me at [email protected] if you need some help.

Brandon's been helping me with some firmware issues I've had with my 50. I'll shoot him an email and have him pick it up next time he's in town. I don't have a single computer with a serial port any more!

Thanks for the info!

Wes

I had a similar issue, the culprit was that I wasn't using the right SD card, you have to order the one from spectra. Not sure if that is your problem

Hmmm, that's interesting. I'm using the card that came with the unit straight from the dealer I bought it from...maybe they bought the card from the local drug store? 😉 I've actually had this unit for several years but until recently haven't logged static to the SD card, I was logging to the collector until I started having issues with Survey Pro. I'll try contacting Spectra directly. Thanks for the heads-up.

Hi did you ever get this sorted out? I am having the same issue now, and now they don't connect to any satellites.
