If you haven't been to one of Charlie's seminars you should not be working on or near railway property.

I have a funny story about Charlie. He spoke at our conference a couple of years ago. I sat down in this class with a preconceived notion of what Charlie would look like. Suspenders, plaid shirt, steel toed boots, orange vest and might even wear his hard hat in class. In front of the class stacking papers and getting a power point presentation ready to go was a middle aged nicely dressed woman. I thought wow I am really losing my Clint Eastwood touch (Grand Torino) of stereotyping people but I guess Charlie can be a girlÛªs name there is a Movie star named Charlie (Charlize Theron). My preconceived expectation was 180 out of whack! Then, in walks a big guy decked out in Carhartt pants, plaid shirt, suspenders and steel toed boots. I had not lost my touch, the man introduced himself as Charlie Tucker and Miss So and So was here to talk about rail road safety. 😀 Good Day, Jp
What I've been saying for years.... if they call and ask for an ALTA Survey (i.e. ALTA/ACSM Survey aka ALTA/NSPS Survey), then they get the certification per the Standards, nothing more nothing less. If they want some other certification, then it's not an ALTA Survey (and I probably won't do it).
