Well, Bill, I do in fact have 5 or so rat terrier pups, available right about now. Cute little buggers! So, it happens to be relevant.... at this time!

Or...it could just be a rambling seven number sequence that sounded rhythmic to some kids banging on guitars in somebody's garage....

Spit...now a group of madcap Surveyors are going to converge on D.C., at least one in a Range Rover and a couple in a Beech 18.

Hell, my Mom used to just grab anything in sight that looked like it could inflict damage, (i.e.: wooden spoon, spatula, belt, baseball bat, lamp, etc.) and attempt to kill me before I could dodge around her and escape. 😉

You know, in this 'new age' of understanding children and their nurturing it seems as though the way we were brought might be viewed as Medieval torture. Apparently 'smacking' your kids to get their attention when they misbehave might have ill effect on them according to some.

Momma Cash was a big fly swatter and yard stick fan. We preferred the yard stick. If she broke something while paddling us we were required to replace it. Flyswatters cost ten cents at the 5&10...yardsticks were free at the paint store...

And even though it seems as though a 'maternal correction' might be a thing of the past; I have faith in humanity. Children haven't changed and women haven't changed either. I bet a four year old throwing a fit on the floor (because the six year old stole his toy) can STILL make mama (who's trying to get the 18 month old fed and changed) lose her patience. And we all know very well what can happen...

My vote goes to the 3 minutes preceding the 9 months as being of supreme importance.

Yeah, and if you hit your kid today you will likely end up in jail. 😉

Thoughts from an ancient elderly Surveyor (me):

You can‰Ûªt ‰ÛÏreason‰Û aka: talk to your kids, they‰Ûªre too young to understand. They will understand and associate an ass-whooping with a wrongdoing. And by an ass-whooping I mean yelling and screaming at them while you attempt to smack them on the butt with whatever is available. Not kill them though.

Nobody could reason with us kids, but Momma tried (pun intended). Gentle and reasonable correction was readily available when I was a child. But much like a yellow traffic light it meant nothing but 'proceed with caution'. None of us backed off an inch until we got caught running the red....

I am a firm believer that the new age parenting has a direct correlation with the vast number of my generation still living at home with no money.

My computer gave me a message to block that webpage as it contained damaging content, lol.
