Back doing post 'quake work at the Port, chasing old monitoring marks.

Those wharves used to be flat and even - we are seeing ground movements of a metre outward and a metre down..

Jim-

How do you address the retracement of a boundary that is not related to any GPS driven coordinates post 'quake ?

Cheers,

Derek

The quick answer is "Exactly the same way you do any boundary survey."

Fortunately our cadastral system is not directly related to any gps driven coordinates.

But in truth it has become much harder work. The need to prove the old marks and origin means having to look much further afield. And then there is the work/time to interpret each and every corner where no mark is found.
