I'm sorry but you're wrong.

Who's blaming them? - It's only an observation (fact) that surveyors are way down the food chain in a real estate transaction.
You are correct - we have only ourselves to blame for that
Not individually however, but our profession to blame.
Realtors have a very strong presence corporately
their associations and groups have a strong say regarding policy
As does the Title Industry & Real Estate Appraisers
-- So yes we can stop blaming other groups and just look in the mirror at the problem
I suppose this is a bad time
> to admit that not only am a surveyor and engineer, but also a licensed real estate salesperson.
Now I wonder, can one get banned for making personal insults against themselves. 🙂
I think the Brits have the right idea as members of RICS
Members of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors are both Land Surveyors and Appraisers. Helps with the fee schedule, I would think ...
"You got paid the first time, didn't you?"
It's incredible but quite believable that a RE agent would have this attitude.
I've seen RE agents sell a house and then several years later, sell it again for the owners who bought it in the last transaction. I wonder how they might react if their client were to say "You got paid for selling it 5 years ago, didn't you? Think of this as an 'update sale'. That should be what, maybe another $100?"
There's a Reason..
..Field crew aren't allowed to answer the phone.
Realtor: "We have a fax copy of your survey, but the bottom was cut off, can you drop by and put your seal on it?"
Field Crew: "Its the bottom half, with the seal and signature, thats cut off ?"
Realtor: "Yes, its the bottom half thats missing"
Field Crew: Oh, Okay, those are free, maam. You can just keep that one, they'll be no charge"
