I called my rodman. He was still sleeping. I had forgotten that I had rolled out exactly one hour earlier than usual today. Looked at the one clock in the house that has not been reset. The good news for him was that he could stay in bed as long as he wanted to.

Back in my formative years working as an employee, even before surveying, I used the "oh I forgot to change my clock" excuse. It was either to be late, or get an hour of overtime. It usually worked.
Luckily, in AZ they don't have DST so it is never an issue. Then again, I always thought DST was right up there with trying to manipulate the weather to suit mankind - as dumb ideas.
