How Do You Know It Has Problems ?

Sending a file too soon to OPUS can give an inappropriate error message. Send it again and post the error message so that we have some idea how we may help you.

Topcon has a utility for converting it's files to RINEX and I believe "teqc" available from NGS can also. Do a search on this board and on the web and you may find your solution before a Topcon user responds.

Thanks for the responses. I'll clarify that we are long time Trimble users here and rarely use OPUS. The tps file was collected yesterday by a contractor who converted to RINEX for import into Trimble Geomatics Office. We have done this before with the contractor in fact with other files observed yesterday. This particular one has a file suffix of 88o instead of 10o which is one clue something is amiss. The second clue is that it does not process in TGO.

I am trying to assist one of our office staff in Truro NS with the issue while I am with my wife at a hospital in Calgary as she waits for surgery. Trying to resolve it on an iPad isn't the best strategy for direct support...lol. I haven't been able to investigate the problem. I suspect that there is invalid data in the file header.

Normally I would use TEQC to look at it but today that isn't an option.

Thanks guys. I'll have my staff look at Topcon Link to see if we can recreate the RINEX ourselves to do more of an analysis.

Sounds Like He Started Collecting Too Soon After Startup.

All it may need if it needs anything more than correcting the name is the removal of the first few minutes of observations.

As an aside, a few weeks ago I had an Ashtech ProMark 2 mislabel the date it included in the file name. I thought it was toast but my post processing software loaded it and used it as is without me even renaming it.

Problem solved. As Paul suggested there were a few minutes of invalid data at the beginning of the file that I was able to delete once I was abte to open the file and inspect it.

Thanks to all offers of assistance. It is appreciated.

Scott

When did you get an iPad?

Didn't you have some Windows netbook last week at Dimensions?

Hope your wife is ok.
