I just used this system with my TSC2 and R8 rover. Works really nice with the Bluetooth. I rented my unit from Western Data Systems and they had me setup and going in less than 30 mins. Only draw back I saw was that you have to get it timed with the continuous topo of your survey style. I lost probably 1/4 of my shots because there was no depth data connected to the X & Y. I know it is a timing issue. Also I had to export the data on to the controller as a csv file and then download to my computer and import into CAD. If I had time, i could of figured out how to use TGO to get the data. That is the only two draw backs. Oh... and if there is lots of moss, the unit will not penetrate it to get an accurate depth. But very sweet system though.

I purchased a system recently. Worked great on the only hydro job we have done since I bought the system. You need to use a survey style sheet on the TSC2 to get the data out in a usable format. After that, pretty easy to get into CAD.

Previously I had been using a hydrobox, the hydrolite is a much better system (newer).

They say it can be used with a total station as well, we haven't tried that yet.

It wasn't difficult to get up and running on it.

thanks you guys for the insight! ... took me three days to get my Topcon gear to chat with the Hydrolite but after some field trials on the lake it works beautifully! ... now to test in the real world of Hooper Bay...

We use one with TSC2. I've never been in the boat running it but I've been told slow and steady is the only way to go. Additionally I guess the file sizes can get quite large.
