The client calls and says they need a survey to accomplish such and such. They send their agent out to show you precisely how to set certain boundaries. You do that.

Result is that one line is unworkable as it slices through a significant fraction of a large pond/lake.

Agent tells you to move the line to the north side of the lake. You do that.

Client calls. Says you did not do what I wanted done. Goes back and changes the parameters entirely. So, you do that.

Client shows up and decides to relocate several of the sides specifically conforming to the immediate prior instructions. So, you do that on a day with blowing snow and -6 degrees F to accomplish for a closing prior to December 31.

That's four times.

The night before the closing was to happen the buyer had a vision from God telling him NOT to buy the proprety, even though he has invested several thousand dollars in improvements already, including hand digging a new lateral line for the septic system. Deal did not close. Years later the property finally sold, including all property. The survey never came into use.

Nevertheless, I was paid for all of my work prior to original closing date.

I think many of us are adjusting to the new way of doing things. Weird things happen in the meantime.
