For the large screen afficianado:
Scott-
I walk horizontally about 200'.
Going up that far ................ tiz only for the brave at heart.
Cheers

It depends
Either a 50-feet journey from bed to desk or a 140-feet journey to a survey chariot. After that, it's all in the chariot. Save the elevator rides for getting to the second floor of courthouses.
i get vertigo just watching that scott. i think i would have a panic attack if i had to do that even one time much less on a daily basis.
my commute is about 12 minutes through a small old downtown area in my pickup to my boring job as chief arse scratcher at a small land surveying firm. the primary excitement consists of my wife and 2 boys bringing me lunch on a regular basis. it is not a glamorous life, but it is the one i choose.
Neat video.
I always enjoy your pics of the job site, but being that high up is absolutely not for me.
I used to take a dingy 10 minutes from Great Cruz Bay to Cruz Bay. Now it's 5 minutes on the road over the Jacob's Ladder, one of our steepest hills.
Scott, was that a lunch box or a mail box you passed about 3/4 up?
I may be old fashioned, but an elevator without windows is the only way I could get up there.
Nice video Scott, Thanks for sharing. I get a nice 60 mile round trip commute here.
I can hop all the way to work if I feel like it; it's about 35 feet from bed to desk.
That was a coffin for the fellow who died of vertigo.
My bed is directly above my work desk... 2 full floors though... about 18~22' vertically.
My route is along what AAA rated "the most scenic drive in North America" a few years back. On any given day I can, and have seen: 4 separate distinct mountain ranges including North America's highest peak, mountain goats, bald eagles, coyotes, wolves, grizzly bears, black bears, beluga whales, and other small critters. I start this in the world's most northern temperate rainforest (Girdwood) and end at the commercial hub of Alaska.
Along a stretch of two lane highway about 10 miles south and mostly within sight of the wettest spot on earth, Mt. Waialale. It never really gets old.
What's the other half?
If I am going to the office it is 3 major surface streets to a freeway to downtown.
If I am going to a project it varies a lot.
Scott I had opportunity to ride up the outside of petronas
towers in builders lift. The then world's tallest building . I think we went to what was final top floor that was still under construction with flimsy material on outer edge. Trip became a part of a SE Asia / OZ surveying conference post conference tour. Tour quickly arranged by the tower's OZ surveyor who came up to me during the conference knowing we were heading into Malaysia and said do you guys want to..... Doubt very much one could get that opportunity these days. What an experience traveling in a flimsy rickety, open cage . One return trip was my quota.
The bridge joining the two towers had just been lifted and was at that stage suspended to test the engineer's maths .
A few years later saw the James Bond movie where scenes were filmed on the petronas towers and bridge...

That was way cool Scott, however I prefer escalators because they can never break, they just become stairs , instead of an out of order sign it can just say "escalator temporarily stairs". 🙂
Seriously though, I go 3 miles north in the morning, 3 miles south in the evening, passing a golf course, a lake, a nature reserve, and assorted starbucks, restraunts etc.., I can dig it man.
Nice ride, I think I'll pass - but you already knew that 😉
If it's who I think it is, then you've got a pretty high class of reader commenting on your YouTube page.
Like the Hedberg jokes....
30 miles on the long island expressway going west at the wrong time and then 30 miles east at the wrong time!!....I'd rather deal with low ballers! Makes for an all around fun day!
Me ? - I get a 30 minute mountain bike ride 'round the edge of the earthquake damage...
