To coin a phrase from a newly "not" retired buddy from Lawton.

I remember the day I obtained ownership of my Hipers like the birthday of my kids. lol

Today, 7 years ago, my surveying business took a turn for the better.

They are still kicking tail (knock on wood).

I still run the version of Topsurv it came with. It works for me, why change?

Today, I cut out a 30 acre tract out of a larger tract, one side was along a creek bottom, the rest was not as bad, but not easy at all.

Probably a 2 day job traversing, did it in 5 hours and probably took 50 or so extra shots, just because I could.

Kudos to Topcon for offering a system that a small guy could afford.

Randy

Have to agree with you. We added Hiper Pro's about 6 years ago and it dramatically reduced our survey time. We routinely do Records of Survey on large aliquot parcels and cut them out of Sections or Quarter Sections in to time at all. The last one our crew retraced a Section and set the corners of a 40 Acre parcel in 6 hours. Topo capabilities are amazing. Using 2 rovers our 2 man crew surveyed 12 miles of roads from R/W to R/W including all utilities, fences, driveways, mailboxes, etc and averaged 1.5 miles per day. We use TDS Survey Pro with Ranger Data Collectors and a Bluetooth interface.

Greatest things since sliced bread as far as I am concerned...I can do in a half day solo what took 3 days with a rod man before we got hiper Ga's...almost the same change as what the computer did for calcs...

I find with this job, when things start to get boring, something new comes along and makes things fun again....ie. going from Leroy lettering to Cadd and from Theo and tape to RTK heaven.

I'm right there with you guys. I love my Hiper Lites. I have the base/rover setup, and it works great for me. Combine that with my two (2) PM3 units for static control, you just can't beat it.
