I took my puppy, a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, on his first survey adventure over the weekend. He loved it. But being Swiss, what is there not to love about surveying in the mountains. My wife thinks I am trying to one up her on the dog fun factor.

He just climbed up the embankment and sat next to the legs. At four and a half months and 50 lbs, he makes a pretty good watch dog. This time next year when he weighs in at around 140 lbs he will be damn good.

Is that a tombstone in the background?

That's a cool dog. He is going to pack in some groceries as he gets bigger. I would love to be able to take my dog surveying with me.

I tried to take Bun Bun surveying, I figured I could mount a 360 prism on his back and then let him prowl around getting shots the whole time.

But he just kept lying down and taking a nap. NOT VERY PRODUCTIVE.

Not a tomb stone, just an old stump. Funny thing is, this whole berm is man made. I fought the snow in April to set a panel here and it was just a flat logging deck. Come back a couple of month later and the state forestry dept had built a berm on top of the deck. They must have dumped a couple of hundred yards of dirt there. All the stumps have been placed there.
