I am prepping a job folder for the crew to start a new job tomorrow. I decided to figure out where the benchmarks are and make a suggestion which ones I think they should use. I think the location of City Monument Number 2 is readily apparent in this streetview.

Andy,

[sarcasm]Just to expand on your idea,I think we need to be informed when this aerial imagery will be flown next so that we can have a man/equipment standing at EVERY B.M. [/sarcasm]

I have reconned many benchmarks this way, without the aid of the gentleman in the picture. I love having it as a tool.

I was drafting a site plan yesterday that had a large amount of detail. 600+ shots. I took pictures but did not get a couple of busy areas. Looked up the project in street view and was able to make sense of a bunch of confusing shots. Really saved the day.
