google earth problems?

Last week I had some issues related to starting in Direct X or Open GL modes.

I Googled the error message, maybe it was just "Google Earth Crashes" and got a Google page on adjusting your settings.

It worked and i can now open again in Direct X.

Not sure it's your problem, but it was mine.

yes, tried both of those. my search turned up something about a change implemented on Friday and that is when i started having problems. Maybe an older version doesn't automatically update itself?

If your computer doesn't have the correct video card the latest version will not work

well, it has been working just fine.

I installed GE on a new build a few weeks ago.

It forced me to also download a piece of software because there was no option to uncheck or deny the download. It ran after download and told me that all of my drivers were in need of updating.

I quickly uninstalled the program.

GE and others will get their quirks ever so often and sometimes the updates are spot on and sometimes not.

Just a though. My supervisor had been using google earth with no problems then hs computer updated it, now his graphics card cannot handle the new version and he can no longer run google earth.....
