Headed into the woods yesterday morning at 6:30 AM to chop out and set up a 25 acre traverse. I was about 3/4 of the way around when the thunder started, so I kept chopping, hoping that I could make it back to the road and the half mile walk to the car before any storm hit. Just as I got to the road to set the last woods traverse point(about 11 AM), the heavy rain hit. I quickly tied a flag (to mark the point) and a truck came around the corner. It was the boss who was heading back from the registry who gave me a ride back to my car and saved the half mile walk and a drenching. If I had have been 20 seconds slower, I would have missed him.
