I wanted to post some new info on this topic as from time to time, someone comes on here looking to have the internal batteries changed out or service performed on these legacy systems.?ÿ
Having just had my Geodimeter 608 serviced and new batteries installed, I would recommend Ellerbusch Instrument Service, LLC in Cincinnati, OH.

I also have found a separate source for replacement parts if needed. This past summer the board on my CU fried and for a very reasonable price was able to procure one and install it myself.
