Quit running 3-1/2" threads, in 1987.
That would have been wonderful, back in the day!

I've never seen one of those. There's been many times where that might've been handy.
"power cord not included unless pictured......"
sounds like a show stopper right there....
Too funny Nate. I love the part about Power cord NOT INCLUDED, unless pictured.
I bet most of us surveyor geezers have a plethora of used parts in our arsenal we'd sell for less than $224. Ok, maybe a buck ninety seventeen, but they'd have to dust them off
For Optical Tooling applications. Still fits Jig Transits.
The I-man that trained me was 5'2" with his 1970's platform shoes. I learned the real meaning of stoop labor. ten inches would have been the perfect addition to his normal H.I.

For those interested, if you were to buy that, I have 3 or 4 pair of K&E legs that it would fit upon. I doubt you'd be able to use it since the top threads look to be shot, but my equipment is in pristine condition. We never throw anything away. We have 1000s of the cardboard rings that flagging comes on. I can make you a bulk deal on those too.
I wouldn't mind having one of those tripods for my old K&E Wye level. How much, shipped to the 80831 zip code?

I used to tell the newbies to save those. "We sell them to the craft stores. They use them for buttholes for hobby horses."
