Would you consider this being an attached garage?

It appears to me that the only connection is at the gutter, so if that's the case I would say that the garage is not attached to the house at least not in a 'structurally' sense

Thoughts?

Not attached. Use that photo in the certificate.

Unless structurally connected they are separate.

It's sort of like being a little bit pregnant. It either meets the intended definition or it doesn't. In my opinion, that house is not pregnant (with garage :):)).

I'm wondering why the ADT sign is stuck in the garage door trim.

Depends if the downspout from the house is attached to the gutter on the garage. If there is no sheetmetal screw and it just hangs there its a detached garage. If it is secured with a screw then it would be an attached garage.

Haha im kidding. I think there might be something to do with the foundation being in common with the house also. But I dont know.

You should ask the "Natester" about that for a professional opinion. 😉

The way you tell is the roof. Is there one continuous roof between the garage and house. In your case they are separate. I have seen garages 5' away from the house but because there was a connecting roof over a sidewalk, it was considered attached.

Would be an ambiguous answer as his Javad would solve it. Just taking a stab Nate, simmer down....

"The way you tell" is would one float away without the other?

Then they are detached.
