Had a question come up on a FEMA. House is a diagram 5, older construction, so it's only about 8' above sea level, about 3 feet above ground. The zone is V-15.

the question:

Since the whole house is below the V15 limit, should I put the area of the living space into the "enclosure" column?

I can't imagine why you wouldn't include the complete footprint sq. ft.

Or are you thinking of adding all the floors together for a sum total? (Which I don't understand 😉 )

No, it is what is below the elevated floor not the flood plane. Look at the bold text under the word and number for Diagram 5 & 6 in the instructions. All it talks about is what is below the elevated floor.

Floyd,

That's what I was thinking, and the way I've always done them.. Then someone asks a question that makes you stop and think again...

Don't forget to label the underside of the secord floor joist if it has a second floor.

Section C2c....
