Set the equipment up this morning to check a few things and my data collector won't bond with the RC4 unit (I have the Topcon FC 2500 w/robotics and Topcon QS5A Robot). Searched the manuals without success to troubleshoot. Data collector will find the RC4 but won't bond. Anyone had this problem? Is it an easy fix or is a trip to the repair shop in the works. Of course I have a job I'm supposed to start tomorrow. Sure would be nice if Murphy's Law would observe the holiday :-/
I have found that the instrument has to be on and in robotic mode before the RC-4 will connect with the FC-2500.
My trick when the FC2500 is being what it often is with bluetooth:
either warm or cold boot...
or, hit start menu key, click on the bluetooth icon at the bottom of the screen, and turn BT off. Then under equipment make it try to connect using CABLE.
Then when it fails, I go back and select the bluetooth option, and it works. It kind of resets the bluetooth.
Thank you for the suggestions. It is working fine now.

Every Monday morning, the first thing I do when I get out to the field,is reboot the data collector and robotic instrument.
This appears to help with the communication.
