I have a Epoch 50 that I just obtained this week. I have been playing around with it the last day or two and I plan to use it on a project this weekend. I am using a Nomad with Survey Pro GNSS and it works great on the RTN, but I will need to collect static data this weekend.
My question is concerning the data collection. I have it set up to collect the data on the unit, not the data collector. Once I start the static session, if I walk far enough away from the unit to kill the Bluetooth connection, will it continue to collect static data?
I have used Trimble R8's for the past few years and I know they continue to collect data once the Bluetooth connection is severed. I was just wondering if the Epoch 50 performs the same.
I guess you can set it up and see for yourself, David.
That's what I am doing right now.
yes it will collect static until you turn the receiver off or stop collection via SurveyPro/Nomad
Be sure the receiver LED displays the "R". That means static is recording in the receiver.
Also, when downloading static files to your Nomad, be careful tapping the 'download' button. It's next to the 'delete' button. I you tap delete their is no turning back! Poof- all gone.
BTW, I have not been able to download the receivers directly to my laptop. I have to download to my Ranger, then transfer to the laptop (Vista)
If you are going to be an unhelpful a-hole, why are you on here?
