Tomorrow was the day I was going to snowmobile back into the site where my 4-wheeler is bogged down, at least I could get a look at it. Got a call to not bother, the people I was?ÿto meet said that there is 18" more of?ÿsnow there since Thursday. Looks like at least two more weeks until there is any chance. I'm really starting to hate this winter.
Sounds like your 4-wheeler might be buried up by the time you're able to get back out to it.

yep, it's almost there anyway, it may be completely invisible. This is country that doesn't get much snow, at least not usually.
That's kind of a bummer. Is there no way to get a 150' hank of climbing rope, and a hand come a long on it?
It would bother me to leave a stuck ATV somewhere.

Could be a blessing getting a bunch of snow. Should insulate things so it doesn't become frozen so hard into the muck you'll need to wait until spring thaw. Climbing rope will stretch too much, couple sleds and some aircraft cable and you might be able to free it. Two sleds pulling and one guy working the ATV throttle in concert with sleds pulling. Good luck.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

If the area is anything like the Nebraska Sandhills where I grew up, 1 to 3 inches of snow turns into barren ground and 3 to 5 ft. drifts after the next "breezy" day.
Best of luck, MM.
My area is in major drought.?ÿ No snow in valley, not much on the mountain.?ÿ We'd take your snow if you can send it our way.
Hope you have a GPS location to know where to dig..........
Well that??s no good. Tough to go without the machine until you can fetch it out. Do you have a spare/loaner? Might be a good excuse to get a new one and sell the old one later this spring when you recover it. ?ÿ ?ÿBIL augered his Toyota into a deep bank up the centennial a few years back during hunting season. They were trying to get out after a big storm. He walked quite a ways before he got a ride. Mother??s Day weekend the next year he hiked back in with a battery and some tools on a cart and drove it out. First person back in since he??d left in November. ?ÿMice had somewhat infested the rig but hadn??t destroyed the wiring.

Probably be next week, there is a new storm moving in today, they expect at least another foot on site. There is a road that gets plowed when they need to ship, for now they don't need to so the only way down that road is big tires, lots of clearance and chains. Snow cat or snowmobile would work. Off that road you won't get a regular vehicle more than a few yards.
From that road it's a 1/4 mile or more on a two track to the 4-wheeler which is down slope from the sometimes plowed road, they may try and plow the 1/4 mile out for me when they are in doing the main road. The 4-wheeler isn't going anywhere for a while, and yes I do have a couple of other ones. But realistically there isn't much 4 wheeler work to do now.

The way to do it is to shovel it out, it is more work than I'm interested in doing. It was a bit of a dumb thing to try (going into the site).
I carried 4 pressure treated oak 2inx12inx6ft boards, shovels and a few different types of jacks and a come-a-long that got me to and from many hard to reach places before ATVs were available.
Locally, can not leave most anything unattended overnight without it being broken into looted and burned by vandals or stolen or confiscated by law enforcement.
Somebody is always there waiting to take what is yours for their own pleasure or hold it for ransom.
good luck

That's what is cool about living in places without people, of course they would need to shovel it out too.
This site is inside a rather large parcel, it's 15 miles?ÿalong the two track to the ranch house, and the other direction its through a bunch impassible country. Should be undisturbed for?ÿ a while
