I was hired to do a massive survey for ROW. It ended up being 24 sheets and covered an entire community along the highway and beyond. For one parcel at two highway intersections I found all the ROW monuments that control highway ROW for both highways. This parcel lies north of my highway of interest and east of the intersection highway.
I get a call wanting to know where the NW and NE property corners are for the parcel, 600' or so north of my highway survey. This is in the category of record a survey and expect to be on the hook for everything anywhere near. Seems the buyer wants all the property monuments in the ground and expects them now. Plus my survey doesn't match the GIS or something, that was mentioned at least a dozen times during the phone call.
Why'd they hire you if they can just use the GIS?

Why'd they hire you if they can just use the GIS?
Ha, fortunately I'm not hired with this one. They wanted me to "explain" why my ROS isn't in the "correct" location where the GIS shows it.
Classic.
As an aside the GIS isn't too far off, but the two intersecting ROW's in question are curved where the GIS is straight.
