Note to moderator - Wendell and/or Angel, if this seems too much of an ad, please remove. I just wanted to relay a positive experience with a detector repair company that I found using the Surveyor Connect board.

I searched the old posts and found a suggestion from TPR for Dias and Dias Electronics for repairing a non-working detector.

I have had a Schonstedt detector out of commission for a few years and just thought I would like to get it repaired as a back-up if ever needed.

I contacted Arthur at Dias and Dias and told him the issue. He actually diagnosed the problem from my description and gave a best and worst case scenario for repair. Either option sounded pretty reasonable to me, so I sent it in.

The detector was quickly repaired and shipped back to me. It works like new now. It turned out to be the simple repair and was charged accordingly.

He even glued a piece of foam in the case (either a missing one or just for extra protection) before shipping it back. While that may not seem like a big deal; when you think of how many places take so little pride in their work that they would have just stuffed it in the case and not worried about it, it actually is an extra step above what was contracted for.

Great customer service. I would definitely recommend them.

Dias and Dias
