Have any of you guys owned or operated a CST total station? How durable/reliable is the instrument? Where do you get it serviced?

I'm looking to buy a total station for some volunteer projects and was thinking about a 2 second CST total station.

Please let me know what you think of the instrument.

Landon

Personally, I wouldn't buy one, but I guess it's a matter of personal preference. They're Chinese knockoffs, I wouldn't have much trust or faith in them. I like the Nikon NiVo, but a lot of people don't care for the friction drives. Depending on how you want to data collect, the Nivo C and the Trimble M3 are both great little guns. If you don't like onboard collection, the Nivo M is a good gun. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a Leica as well.
