We just picked up an old CS15 and for the life of me I can't figure out how to enter special characters like underscore, parenthesis, etc. Hopefully it can be done... Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
oy- don't have one sitting here in front of me, but it does and you'll slap yourself when you figure it out. (which is to say- i slapped myself when i called the sales guy and he pointed it out to me). iirc, look for a tab at the bottom of the screen, brings up the whole menu. like everything, seems clumsy at first, but only for a little bit.
There are options on the bottom of the screen for typing with the touchscreen or function keys, but the only special characters are * ? and /. I'm not seeing any other options to bring up a special page. My NTRIP login contains an underscore, so I'm dead in the water until I figure this out. I've spent too much time already reading manuals and searching the internet. Like you said, I assume it's easy once you know the trick.
Step 1: turn it off
Step 2: put it in the case
Step 3: put the case in the closet and never open it again
Step 4: get a different data collector
:p

argh- frustrating not having one in front of me. so what happens is once you find the way in, you can scroll through them.
aha! just found the text from the leica dude:
"when you go to type in the description on the boxes above the f keys you will see letters pop up. scroll up or down and you will find the symbols."
dan's just jealous.
That's it - had to scroll down using the red arrow keys. I knew there had to be an easy trick....
Thanks so much for your help.
cool, glad it worked out.
i'm a little bit useful every once in a while- slightly more often than my wife would claim.
This forum is great. I was having the same issue entering a "+" in for my NTRIP login as well. First search result yielded this. Thanks!
