I cannot get them to work for me today. The find a zone program is failing, and not giving me any solution even though I choose MA then Barnstable County.
I am trying to convert lat/long to NAD83. My lat.long is old, NAD27 and is N41-43-21.10, W069-55-42.88
and N41-43-29.18, W069-57-04.28. This is a Town line that I want to show on a drawing where data was collected in NAD83 horizontal coordinates....
Any clues as to why NGS isn't working? Or is it just me 🙂

Reverse the order
N41-43-21.10 = 41-43-21.10 N
"Any clues as to why NGS isn't working?"
?? NGS has nothing whatsoever to do with Corpscon... it is U.S. Army Corps of Engineers software...
My copy of CORPSCON is working just fine. The NAD 83 (1996) values I get for the first point are 41-43-21.50/69-55-40.94 and the second point is 41-43-29.58/69-57-02.34.
You don't need the direction of the lat and long as part of the input.
In reading your post a little closer I think you were actually using the NGS Geodetic Tool kit. First, since you already have lat/long you don't need the state plane coordinate conversion all you really need is NADCON. The only problem with that is that they have posted an updated version of NADCON and you need to download it and run it offline. The new version really is just an updated interface so there's no change in the actual transformation grids. You are MUCH better off downloading CORPSCON. Even though I worked for decades at NGS I was very frustrated that the tools for SPC/UTM conversions were never combined with the datum transformation tools NADCON & VERTCON like the Army COE did with CORPSCON. I regret that virtually no one at NGS ever even thinks about using SPCs or UTMs so matching these with the transformation utilities is not something they seem to understand. Take a look at the posting on the NGS homepage for GEOCON and GEOCON11 which are supposed to transform from each states HARN to NAD 83 (2007) [GEOCON] and from NAD 83 (2007) to NAD 83 (2011) [GEOCON11]. The only format that it allows for input is lat/long in an NGS Blue Book 80 record, which is almost totally foreign to anyone except those who have actually submitted data to NGS in a "Blue Book." Hope springs eternal that they may actually understand and correct these issues.
huh, i just always added the N W
i don't do enough in CorpsCon to worry about the shortcuts but if I think of it I will use that one next time.
Corpscon/NadCon not functioning?>Base 9
Yes, you are correct, I am using the NGS toolkit to access nadcon and the SPC transform programs.
My mission: I have lat/long cords on two points from approx. 1930 that I need in nad83...
I used to use corpscon but after various computer upgrades I have, once again, lost that program.

It remains readily available for free download. I do so wish that there were some resources available to fix it's bugs.
Corpscon/NadCon not functioning?> HA!
I found the zip file buried in my downloads! all set now
