A surveyor took some 3" iron disks and welded them to rebar, they make a nice monument, easy to find, for a surveyor but more important for the landowner:
The property has some contour to it, this is the witness corner for the southwest corner, the actual corner is 9' to the left:
Awesome country Moe

Yes, I really like that area, very scenic......
OK Moe, do you have an awesome camera, or is it even more pretty in person?
Some contour?
You mean some cliffs

even more 🙂
"...9' to the left..."
I am winded just looking at those elevation changes...
Looks like Switzerland.
Not sure my ATV will get me there..........:plumbbob:
9 feet left of witness monument... watch that last step...
I'll second that comment about being winded by looking at the photos. Once would be enough of that for me.
I did a project where Norman Bailiff set 2" iron pipes with a 3x3 iron plate welded to the top in the 1960s. I found one intact, the rust almost made his LS unreadable. Another near a utility pole had the plate missing and it missed by 2' (Bailiff did excellent work). I concluded the utility crew had "reset" it there because his other monuments fit like a glove.
