I usually just stick my finger in the hole and pick it up, am usually able to carry a three high stack of all ones.

Twice I've had to flag down a car and ask the driver to back up a bit so I could retrieve the cone under their car. Once a site superintendent and I watched a concrete truck back over one and it stuck between the dual tires. That guy became persona non grata on that jobsite.
Wasps. I don't want anything to do with those guys.
Is that wasp or bee? Honey? Your portable lunch box.
If wasps I can just envisage OH&S (health and safety) when stung and filling out the forms.
The mind boggles knowing some of the questions they ask.
Re stuck between dual tyres, those things make an interesting noise as they flop flop on each revolution.

Not long ago, I picked one up that way and set it on the tailgate of my truck. When I did, a full-grown black widow fell out. Lucky I didn't get bit.
A well thought out attack is necessary for victory when dealing with these boogers. Night-ops are essential.
