I am curious what others have experienced with the battery life of these data collectors? We have recently given up on the chargeable batteries as they wouldn't hold a charge and now we are attempting to limp along on AA batteries... Sometimes we are lucky to get a couple hours out of the AA's. There must be a good battery that will hold a charge for at least a better part of a busy day. Thank you for any input, at the cost of all these batteries we would probably be better off with a new dc....

Kelly,

The battery life is definitely poor on this unit. I have been getting about a year out the rechargeable packs (HBAT16486), which are the 2300mAh units. The last one I bought directly from http://www.2t.com/ and was 60% of the cost of other sources and seems to be holding charges much better (newer stock?). The last one was installed in 3/11 and is still running a full 6-8 hours running Bluetooth.

When my original 600+ batteries began to die after 3-4 hours I had the battery pack re celled at a local battery company (not Batteries plus but of the same type) Now I easily get a full day out of a fully charged battery pack. The cost was less than 25 dollars, after all they are simply six rechargeable AA batteries. No reason to pay Carlson or TwoTechnologies their exorbitant rate for new batteries.

AS an additional note- the 600+ will not charge individual batteries but only recharges the six batteries as a battery pack.
