Hell, I damned near forgot! Tommorrow is National Nude Day and National Tape Measure Day, I think you can pretty much guess what they're implying here with that.

Was ringing wet by 9 A.M. this morning here in sunny S. FL. I'm going to start bringing an extra change of clothes w/me if this triple digit heat index keeps up!

Mine was less than half. I have this: https://www.acurite.com/weather-environment-system-900wes.html

It's been up for about a year with no problems at all. On wundermap it's KFLSANFO30. (3 miles West of Sanford, Fl. Named "SYLVAN LAKE".) SWMBO wants a personal digital radar dome but those things are really pricey.

My goodness, how can you get anything to grow with soil temps like that! 😎 not to mention digging for irons must be FUN.

some things grow very well. the alkaline water and soil is the hardest thing to combat. we just seek out plants that thrive in the climate.

that looks like a nice setup! will it continue to log and broadcast without being plugged into a computer?
a weather station in my home would be on the third floor roof... wifi is no issue but I could run a hard wire if necessary.
I do have several computers running 24/7 but none with windows or mac... time to re-investigate the situation.

Question: can it take strong wind and gusts? we sometimes have 25-30 mph wind for days on end, gusts up to 40 or more.
The neighbor's station goes down whenever we have a storm... it may just be a poor installation

‰ÛÏwill it continue to log and broadcast without being plugged into a computer?‰Û

Yes it has a built in solar charger for a lithium ion battery that you have to replace every 12-14 months. It comes with a receiver (if you want the PWS to be on Wunderground) that plugs into your wifi router.

‰ÛÏQuestion: can it take strong wind and gusts?‰Û

The highest I have recorded is a 46mph gust so I really don‰Ûªt know. I wanted to take the leaf blower to it and see how high a wind gust I could get but SWMBO wouldn‰Ûªt hear of it. On a SWMBO note mine is more curious than a herd of feral cats. When I first bought this thing I received ‰ÛÏThe Look‰Û and ‰ÛÏThe Lecture‰Û about frivolous expenditures on ‰ÛÏstupid toys‰Û. So after a few days she starts liking the output display because she can see how windy it is in our backyard. Next step was to confiscate the display and place on HER side of the table which separates us in the family room. I told her I was going to buy another display for me, and damn, I received approval. (a very rare instance) Now she wants to install personal digital radar system. Only kind I can find under $1m is the nautical type but none of those are wifi.

Let me know if you buy one! 😎

I was referring to the soil temp being 128.0 F, surely this is a mistake, unless some geothermal activity, and don't call me surely.

Excellent!
On my must have list.
SWMBO is happy when she gets her goodies too, that is proven fact.

128 soil surface temp sounds right to me, the dry sand of the beach is too damned hot to walk on barefoot at mid day.
Are the sensors supposed to be down a foot or two?

Well I was thinking the soil temp was more for agriculture, so it should be down about 4" - 6"

when I get back home I will see what the temp is at 6" or so.
I suspect his sensor is not down much at all, or even just laying on the top. I will have to hunt him up and see.

It has been over 105 actual temp here everyday this week. Brutal. We have been starting work about 30 minutes before sunrise and taking off at noon. My helper almost had a heatstroke Monday about 2:00 so we decided to start early and quit early until we get back to double digit temps.

I bet Florida is miserable when it gets as hot as OP was saying. We were doing some surveying in Miami last month and the upper 80's is hot there with all the humidity. Soaked in sweat at 8 in the morning.
