My back bothers me from time to time, and bending down to set traverse nails and the bamboo stakes I use makes it worse, so I made this tool that doubles as a walking cane.?ÿ One end accepts the traverse nail (with an internal stop and magnet to hold the nail in place),?ÿ The other end accepts a bamboo stake.?ÿ I can use it to set either while standing.?ÿ I also have scribes every half foot along the length.

Nice hack. I use a cane when I walk. Bending down is easy, it's the getting back up that hurts.
"Work smarter, not harder" 😉
It looks like it could also be used as a ‘peace pipe’ if you find yourself crossing any tribal lands?
Just say’n…………..
I sometimes work solo, and use this setup. There is an aluminum disk under the peanut prism. The tripod is 3/4 normal size.
Why not just use a pole and bipod? I'm guessing that would be much easier than that contraption.
We need to see a video of this in action, please.

Many years ago on the HeeHaw TV show there was a short skit involving laziness. I think it was Junior Samples and another fellow just laying around doing nothing when another guy walks up and announces there had been a "Laziest Person contest". Junior won the title and $10. Junior said something like, "See my left rear pocket?" The guy says he does. Junior says, "Would you mind slippin' that $10 dollar bill in my pocket for me?"
@gordon-svedberg I love this! Excellent work, both in front and behind the camera. Thanks!
Bill Gates says; give your laziest employees the hardest jobs and they will figure out the easiest way to accomplish it.
@dougie : And then there is the theory that if you give the job to a very busy person they will find a way to get it done quicker.
