For those that are interested, here is his book on ebay, and it's fairly cheap now. Yes, I know you can download and print it out, but some of us like an old fashioned book.
I would be "naked" without one on my bookshelf...
If you want to know about the PLSS, his book is great!
Several years ago I learned that the Oregon BLM office had the book for sale. Well, I put off ordering it. I finally called up there and they told me that they didn't sell it anymore, but they had a used one on the shelf they'd give me.
sounds like a 'pay it forward" story
Powell's Bookstore in Portland almost always has a copy available, used. They are on the web, just google "Powells".
I can't go to Powell's anymore... The baggage fee for a 60 lb. suitcase is out of hand!

Bibliophile heaven. But they will ship.
We can't remember how we acquired our copy, but it holds a place of honor among our surveying books. The PDF has its downside in the form of weird mis-scannings, and its upside in its being searchable.
Cheers,
Henry
I've been a Powell's buyer and seller since the 70's. Frankly, it is the people's Alexandria for books. Free shipping for over $50. Got several of my original survey references there. HOW TO on any subject you want. Just forget Amazon for books. Powells is superior.
I had to stop visting my niece in Portland....
Both my truck, or my wifes car would engage "autodrive"
and deliver me to Powells... where I would then offer up
my wallet to the betterment of their business model.
That's IF there's money left over after going to the
Danner factory outlet out by PDX.
I think there's a Powells 12 step group in Portlandia now....
to far away to save me though.
