You have to be a special kind of masochist to love this...
Steel arches in the ceiling of the PATH Transit Hall Station...
Portal Frames in the PATH Upper Transit Hall.
An area large enough to fit Grand Central Station with space to spare.
A better view of the Portal Frames in the "Occulus".
Wouldn't it be nice to survey some regular steel shapes out of the AISC manual?
Now, if only the geometry wasn't a corkscrew...
[sarcasm]You got to love a job like this.[/sarcasm]
I am in absolute awe as to how you even go about this type of surveying.
Jerry

[sarcasm]the base of the crane looks off about 0.00004'B-) [/sarcasm]
Great Scott, Scott! That's a lot of metal!

Great pics!
Looks as a nightmare to me,
Chr.
If at first you don't succeed....get out a big torch and a big sledge hammer and make it fit. Who'll ever know a thousand years from now.

Hmmmm.....that could be a big compliment, or an extreme put-down.;-) In this case it's obvious what it means. Incredible!
MC
Scott-

I hope you will take advice from another and do get your book ready to publish !
Cheers

I built a 6 story parking garage in Omaha NE, Circa 1985. I know what kind of math it took to put that together; I can't IMAGINE the math it took to build your job, I'm in awe.......
Well, maybe I can, I read ALL of your posts....
Thanks for posting here....
