We are looking to replace a Design Jet 800 and a copier with an all in one unit. Suggestions?

Sorry talking about large format. Our Design Jet is a 42" plotter.

KIP 3000 will cost more up front, but if you are doing a lot of printing you may save enough on time and ink cartridges to make it worthwhile.

We have the 2300. Its been working great for a year. The only drawback (my opinion): unlike your 800 that loads paper from the front, the 2300 loads from the back. Its got nice casters so it moves away from the wall for easy for loading paper. A nice feature is that it will accept a USB memory stick. Plot directly from that instead of going through a PC. Has nice software for tracking prints to jobs, keeping track of ink levels, displays cost per print (based on what you pay for ink, paper etc.) We went from a 1050c to the 2300 and it works fine for us, small county office probably averaging 20 - 30 prints per week.

We are using an OCE TDS 400 system. It does a great job for us. We need to sell it and pick up a smaller footprint system. So, it is available for the right price. How about $7500.00.

JD:

I went with the multiple suggestions for the Brother, unfortunately, that unit is phasing out. I went with the newer Brother, the MFC-J6510DW and love it so far. I'm finding myself doing many maps on Ledger rather than send them to the plotter.

Folding a Ledger to 8½x11 is preferred by clients over getting a large 24", in many cases.

Brother products have been good to me for over 15 years, lasers and inkjets.

(By the way, I found the MFC on sale and picked it up for around $150. A real steal)
