I don't know about you (well, actually I think I probably have a few ideas about you), but it's becoming increasingly more likely to google some obscure surveying topic and get ... a link to a thread on the Beer/Connect.com.

Some, like this one, are fun to revisit:

https://surveyorconnect.com/images/uploaded/201011060137274cd4b1572c94e.jp g" alt="" />

1954 County Line Survey Revisited

I was actually googling "T.A. Breeze" and got that one, but it was fun anyway.

Hey Kent
Are you still using the TDC1 data collector? What software do you download it to?

Actually, I still have a couple of TDC1's but "upgraded" to a TSC1 two years ago or so. I still log GPS data in the receiver rather than the DC.

Good luck with the TSC1. Good unit. I had two of them. One died at age 11 and the other at age 13.

I actually like the TSC1 quite a bit. The display is legible in all daylight conditions and I've never had it crash.

I'd keep everything downloaded to the day. When they stop it will just be lights out. When my first one died I had to repeat a whole days work. The second one died and I didn't lose anything important. You just go to turn it on some day and it won't. Up until the death they work perfectly.

Search engines are amazing. Long time ago I found out you donated to the Democratic Party. Nothing wrong with that but I didn't like that such things become so public. So based upon that I've never donated to a political party, just don't want the info so easily found online by anyone.

As amazing as all the computer data is we are really giving up our privacy.

Yeah, I hit a lot of BeerLeg threads using Google Search. Some of the old ones have about 10,000 views, maybe more. A lot of reading must go on beyond the relative few of us that post.

I'm more of a - what sane person would give any money to either party? But if I did I wouldn't want it free for to all the world to know or even worse start getting all the calls and such that putting it out there is going to cause. With Google Search there is not much you can do without the world being able to find out. How do you like all the targeted advertising? You search out something and then all of a sudden all the ads start showing up. Hey, Gmail goes through your emails to be able to target you. Some say they are getting it down to where they know what you probably are going to purchase before the decision is made. Wonder what else they think they can compute about what people are thinking?

This INTJ would not. Of course sanity is often a matter of perspective.

An opposing attorney for a court case I was working on, googled me and found a thread on here about advocacy for a client and brought it up during the deposition. In 4 hours, that's all he had on me. 🙂

Maybe, but I don't say anything here that I wouldn't say in person. You can't live in fear. 🙂

I've noticed the same thing. Look up adverse possession or RTK or GNSS and you get beerleg.
