Over the Holidays I came across a copy of "Survey Drafting" by Gurdon Wattles. I was sure I had a copy but could not find it, so I said "what the heck" it is available and not expensive. I thought it was going to come along with another Amazon book purchase, but they came in two separate packages. Today putting on the shelf I come across my other copy, behind another book.
This is available for an agreement of $10 to Wendell and a good posted story of how you will put it to use.

I recently purchased that book from a Goodwill Store in Washington State. They had it listed online.
My former employer had a paperback workbook version of the book when I started my surveying career. I looked at it regularly.
When my copy arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my copy was a hardcover textbook. I paid less than $12 including shipping.
It was a great addition to my library.
I want it. But, there may be others who need it more than I do.
Nothing like a plat, with numbers, where it's impossible to tell what is being dimensioned.
So, I want it, But, if I don't get it, I'll find one on the internet. I did not know that such a book was available.

I'd use it to beat CAD Techs over the head!:-P 😛 😛 😀 😀
Looks like a great addition to my collection. I am slowly adding books. I have Wattle's "Legal Description". It is a great reference book and I am sure this one would be too. Never seen it. Not sure if I have a great story other that I promise not to use it for a door stop or a boost for a sloping desk!
I've begun to acquire books in my late attempt at becoming a RPLS in Texas. I'd love to have this book to offset the books that I'll be collecting and line up. I'm a poor, 44 year old, college student and project manager for a small firm in South Houston, stressing the poor part. I've learn all my drafting in the field and would love a good witness to help guide me along in my studies.

Hey... you are like me. I am a poorer, 45 yr old college student for a small business in NE New Mexico. Just two of us! I am desperately working on getting educated so I can get my license in NM and any other state if I am forced to move because of situations beyond my control. Did I say I was poor too? LOL!
Alibris.com has lots of copies of Survey Drafting available.
But don't let the title fool you. I have a copy. It was written in the pre-CAD days and is of limited usefulness today. I enjoy having it as a novelty, nothing more. I don't think I'd pay more than a few bucks for it.

I completely agree.
I have not seen the book. But, we do need to teach some basics more than ever.... I find incomprehensible drawings, from computers...

I agree. A good text on survey drafting would be useful. But this isn't it.

You can't be more poor than I. I'm so poor I had to take out a student loan to pay attention!

LOL! I can't even get a student loan because I am so poor. They and the bank laughed at me. Have to make payments using a credit card so I can make payments to the credit card. Now that is poor!
