I want to say that before I pulled up a stool at the bearlegger, I did not have the confidence to tell an attorney I am doing it my way because it's my license. After reading posts over the past couple years from folks like J Fleming, I have no problem telling attorneys or other undesirables, what I think. This place rocks:good:

And face it, they only say it because they don't like something you did, not because they have reviewed this issue hundreds of times.
You kind of feel like asking them if they wouldn't mind sharing with you some of the plats and/or information that has been done wrong hundreds of times, so you can offer it up to your board of review.
Unfortunately, I've seen enough really poorly done ALTA's that I would give some credence to the attorney's statement of having not seen something like that before. "Hundreds" of times is surely a stretch, but "dozens" or "several" is well within the realm of reasonable possibility.
Of course, you could reply with [sarcasm]
"In the hundreds of ALTAs that I've performed, I have never, not once ever had an attorney display the temerity and lack of ethics necessary to suggest that I should suppress information that clearly falls under the basic requirements of an ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey and thereby falsify my certification!"
"Please take a day to review the copy of the current ALTA Standards (attached), and let me know by close of business tomorrow if you still would like me to falsify my drawing by omitting this information about the subject property. If at that time, you are still of the same opinion, I suggest that we contact the State Bar to request their opinion on the matter."
With all due respect,
Grouchy Surveyor

Any time someone tosses around words such as: everybody, nobody, always and never; it is clear they are exaggerating. Believe me, it always works out this way.
Between the late rpls.com and surveyorconnect.com, I have grown much more confident in telling a l**yer to go pound sand when I realize I know more than they do.

I know it always works that way, every time....with everybody. 😉
