Probably off-topic but of interest to any taxpayer. Do you wonder what caused the Atlanta I-85 collapse? Google Street View 2121 Piedmont Rd NE. See that huge stack of orange conduit rolls? That's what burned.

Thanks for jumping in, Jim. Look down a bit and you will see another thread related to the same fire. What a disaster this is.

My brother told me the story of a giant spool of 2" coated gathering line burning up offshore.
Welder using an Acetylene torch, cutting the pipe end of the spool, caught the coating on fire and burned down millions of dollars of gathering line.

A welder working on a new apartment building was responsible for fires burning numerous homes in the high dollar community southwest of Kansas City recently. Something like 25 houses caught fire from the hot embers of the large apartment building fire per the following link.

One of the first nuclear power plants for TVA was delayed from going online for years because an inspector was leak testing wall penetrations with a lit candle. He set wiring insulation on fire and burned millions of dollars worth of wiring. Now THAT would be my luck.
