I took a research class at the Sacramento Public Law Library today. Going around the room I said I am a Land Surveyor. The instructor said she had a dear friend who was a Surveyor, he had passed away. I asked his name. She said I probably didn't know him because he was down in San Diego. I said it's a small world, I might know him. So she said Wayne Stutzman, I said yes he was the Motorcycle Surveyor. She knew about that. It's a small world.
Sure do remember him, not sure I knew he passed away. It is a small world for surveyors for sure.

Whoa! Not glad to hear. Wayne was ok. I will miss him.
RIP Wayne.

How many of us will just stop posting when we pass away, without anyone knowing.
Maybe we'll notice it, maybe we won't.
Wayne was cool . . .
Was he old enough that we could've expected him to pass, or did something happen?
I always appreciated Wayne's posts, he seemed like a good sort.
I seem to remember reading about his passing, maybe on the other board before this board came to be?
If I recall correctly, he dropped off the old board for a while, then can back and mentioned he'd been diagnosed with cancer and a very few weeks later someone posted that he'd passed on. I did a quick search here and could find it, so i believe it was in the waning days of the old board.

Wayne Stutzman - the motorcycle surveyor
Posted by Robert McMillan on Jan 4, 2010 12:34 pm
Wayne lost his battle with Cancer this weekend. He was a Civil Engineer (CA Pre-82) who found he enjoyed surveying and dealing with the fine Survey review staff at the County of San Diego more than engineering and the associated headaches. He was a good guy, and will be missed by those who knew him.
Anyone remember the pic of him with all his gear on his bike?
He truly was a motorcycle surveyor.
I enjoyed his posts, also.
I know I have a downloaded picture of his Motorcycle somewhere.
I actually worked off a Yamaha 400cc scooter off and on and I had a keen interest in Wayne and his motorcycle.
If I find the picture, I'll post it.
