I bought two of these.
Just thought someone here might be interested. It works just like they say. It has a grid of tiny bumps that allow you to follow a straight line when sketching. You can still label dimensions by not pressing as hard. The grid is about 1/32 inch.
I figure I will cut one of them down for use in the fieldbook.

That looks awesome, so I ordered two.
Just to add to your string: did you know that Rite in the Rain paper can be purchased by the sheet? I have a stack of 11x17 that my supplier gave me. It runs through laser and is pretty durable. You can get 8.5x11 for your clipboard or for printing.
I just ordered two also.
Do they have one with a USB port??

No I didn't.
Our county map book for 911 addressing is published as a PDF. Each department prints or copies and makes a book by whatever means they choose. Our current method is a 3 ring binder with the plastic sheet protectors for each sheet. I don't like it.
I may try the Rite in Rain paper, see how it does.
Thanks,
James
Way to drum up business. I ordered 2 as well. See how they work out.
There's another product that I like that would work well for that. It's called "Duracopy Waterproof Copier/Laser Printer Paper." It's basically a plastic sheet that looks and feels just like paper, but you can't tear it.
It prints well in a laser printer, and takes pencil very well. I use them for soil testing log sheets. If they get muddy, I can wash the dirt off in the sink, the printing and pencil marks remain as good as new. You could write on this under water, if you wanted.
It's expensive though, about $0.65 per sheet. I think I buy mine from Forestry Suppliers.

The Duracopy sheets are also on the Rite in the Rain website but they didn't have many details on it. That may be the same stuff that the young lady at Office Depot was telling me about. She said it was Polyester, Tear proof, and out of stock! Now I know where to get it.
Thanks,

Geez, guys, talk about old technology.....
I've got one of those I bought probably in the late 1980's at some trade show, best I remember. Just dug it out, never used it much, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. On the back of mine it says "Doll Products, 5103 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tn. 37919"
On the front at the bottom says it was made in Austria.
It's also got a 90 deg. protractor on it.
