We flew into Corpus Friday afternoon. All of the districts surveyors, about 40 people in all. 5:00 AM Saturday, after a harrrrrrd night of "team building" we were all on a bus heading to Port Aransas, where we caught a boat and headed out 32 miles into the Gulf. After 12 hours of boat ride, fishing, and more "team building" we arrived safely back at the dock accompanied by 750 lbs of kingfish. One more night of "team building" and then it was off to the plane back home. I am pretty much spent right now.
Hindsight: I had an opportunity in 1998 to accept a position with these guys that I turned down for another position somewhere else for $0.75/hr more. I wish I had a mulligan on that one.
Sounds like you had a blast. Did you take pics?? If so can we see? 🙂
A Red Snapper. Had to throw him back because we were three days out of season 🙁

One Big Sexy Roadhand
Sunrise on the Gulf
Another of Big Sexy and his worthless helper. Sidenote: Worthless helper was last person down to the bus that morning.30 minutes late. Very impressive with all of the big shots onboard.
Big Sexy, worthless helper and sweet clean MoMo the intern. She will be leaving us soon to return to school.
Dolphins on the ride back in.
The bounty
View from my room to the southeast
View from my room to the northeast. The ship is the USS Lexington. I took the tour last time I was here in 2003. Pretty interesting.
Gorgeous pics!!! I bet that water is warm enough to take a nice swim in too huh.
I especially like the dolphins!! Are they friendly??
LMAO @ Worthless Helper. Does he know you call him that??
I'm pretty sure he knows that the first person that offers up a pack of AAA batteries in trade gets him 😉
He's really an alright helper, just needs to lose the "kid" attitude every now and then.
