Pulled a tick out of my shoulder this morning, likely a deer tick too -- dug in but not engorged -- doc says to keep an eye on it but not to worry yet. I was aggressively vigilant till a couple months ago when I stopped finding them and began to slack off. Advise all, especially here in the northeast, to remember that the threat continues. Lyme disease is serious business.

That's not good. It was only 5 or 6 years ago when I got my first tick ever here in northern NH; now in the spring, you pull a couple off every day you are in the woods.

Maybe the torrential rains today will drown them.

Last winter, we had deer ticks in north central Mass until late December, I know the hunters told me that they'd never seen them that late. I got hit by one early last March. There season is really increasing.

Didn't Burl Ives play big daddy in that?

Head south, you can get them 10 - 12 months of the year. I have gotten them in Dec. and Feb.
