Awe....
That's a cute little tripod :bunny:
why so low in those places?
Scanner can't see a circle beneath itself, the diameter of which increases with height.
Lower the scanner and decrease the diameter of the unscanned circle.
"Well, I got friends in low places".
And, there is a book about it. "Little Women"

marvelous! i have this problem myself sometimes, didn't think of it myself.
So you scan low and than at man-height for your targets?
going to order a small tripod at once
There is also a metal stand available which is even lower.
You could attach it to a level turtle and more or less sit it on the floor?
Hello all...... still out in the desert but now building a gas plant.
I was just wondering to myself whatever happened to that guy "Paul the Irishman" the other day. Good to hear from you.

I don't think that tripod was ordered.....it looks like it was retired then redesigned/re-purposed using a saw and some hose clamps.:-D
I have an aluminum version of this mini-tripod. No doubt handy when needed.
Although I much prefer the wooden ones, they do not seem to be readily available so the aluminum one it was...
And, someday, when it grows up, it wants to be a basketball goal.
It's a Nedo. Got it from Laser Scanning America.
Telescopes up & down.
It's stable in interior conditions or virtually no wind. Each section has a locking tab, 3 sections added to the main here, have 4. Higher you go, the worse it gets. Once you get it up there, wait a few minutes before you hit the go button.
This is not a setup we would normally do, but you gotta push the limits sometimes to see what you can accomplish.
I really like the manhole scanner application. I am eagerly waiting for a good option for us dumb dirt surveyors for sewer measure downs.

Surveyor 1: The water sure is cold.
Surveyor 2: And deep too.
Wait, you said a good option 😀

"GOOD" one. Have you heard the one about, ....never mind.
Nice pics. I would recommend THIS TRIPOD instead of the smaller wood legs. They aren't cheap, but they don't slip on the concrete either. You can spread them out to get them lower and they are very steady.
That's just my 0.02'
