Yes folks what we have here is a stonewall and...what is this?!! A fence post w/BARBED WIRE...

lol....
For those of you in the south that white stuff is S-N-O-W.
😉 😉
OK, so where's the corner?
Its the centerline of the stonewall.
There is a row of fence posts (not shown in the picture). The fence post in the picture is the last one in the row before the stonewall, you extend the line to the center of the wall and bingo..theres the corner.
Oh boy, here we go.
Those are some pretty big stones.....much larger than you would find in Texas.;-)
Looks good to me. Oh, wait on second review, Might be off 0.04
A Stone Wall trumps wire fence. They didn't build stone walls casually, but the wire fence was most like moved from the original fence posts to a convenient sapling by someone too lazy to cut new fence posts.
Durned Carpetbagger!
I think the north should have to build all new fences in the south!

So, they spent all their money on the wire and didn't have any left over for *staples* to attach it to the posts? :>
Good thing they cleared all those rocks out of the way to stack them into a "wall". I guess they were choking out the trees.

I have a feeling that that is an end post, Kent. So, it's just wrapped and twist-tied. 🙂

Well, I guess they didn't have any money for the fencebuilding manual either then. You still need to staple the wire at end posts. That doesn't look like nearly enough wire for the diagonal tension wires at a braced end section anyway.

lol...good point
Haha...good one Kent!!
Seeing as how Connecticut has been completely developed, I'm sure that barb wire violates multiple zoning ordinances.

Not to mention restrictive covenants. I'll bet that was what brought Joe out to that property: to determine which of the landowners would be sued by the homeowners' association for not getting the Fence Review Committee to approve the wire design.
Durned Carpetbagger!
That was a funny comeback, I like the way you think Nate.
Kent-
Any odds yet on when the EA and Planning Report will be brought forward regarding the effect of ferrous metals on the rare stapelus postorum erectus ?
Seems there may be a NIMBY tag day on the horizon for cruelty to graniticus pilemupinwallium by leaving them out in the snowy cold.
Joe-
Seriously...... we similar scenarios in parts of Wellington and other Counties in Ontario.
How do you monument this "corner" ?
Cheers
Derek

I haven't laughed at any post like I've laughed at this one, good show men!! don't forget the inherent danger of exposed rusty metal to the community and groundwater.
If you go back, get close-up shots of a barb from two or three different angles and we'll look up the patent for that wire.
Derek..
I could monument it a couple different ways.
Sometimes I take a part the stonewall and drop a monument in or,
I'll set a drill hole, drop a rebar say, 3 feet off the wall, and put that on the survey.
It kinda depends on the situation.
