In the Northeast anyway. Snow cover and ice banks are gone, the weather is warm, plenty of sight distance in the woods, a back log of work and plenty of daylight to get her done (with associated overtime) . It will be a glorious few weeks; till the leaves flush out and the clouds of black flies emerge. I do love this job....
Good luck. My luck would bring on overcast skies and hard rain every day until the leaves were fully flushed out. Then it wouldn't dry out until the black flies show up.
This time of year isn't bad for surveying in the south prairie either...but it's windy all the time. I hear people lament, "I wish the wind would stop". I hate to tell them that will happen in June..and from then on it gets HOT.
It's a fine time to be surveying in WV. Can't wait till fall. 🙂
Beautiful here in southern ny. 🙂

Truck doors were in serious danger Friday in the field. If the map was loose it would have been a quarter mile away in a couple of minutes.
Not so bad in the Carolinas either. Mid 70's, sunny, and a light ocean breeze working at the beaches today. Lots of spring break ladies out working on a tan. Me? Long pants, long sleeves, sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen.

Wind, rain, lightning and thunder.
Normal here. 34 one morning and over 80 the next afternoon. Still as can be one morning and blow your hat into the next county later in the day.
