here are some snips of the 1965 BPA Notes and recovery.
9/1965
note the marks on the SW witness tree...
here are the notes from 11/1965

so the 11/65 guys claim to have found the original.....
here's field pics...
this is the cap that was leaning... it was also oriented to about N45^E I'm thinking mostly displaced by the fencers.

pesky tourist, huffed and blew snot at me for about 10 minutes before leaving with a fawn.
this is better view of the terrain.
the power easement(road) runs N-S
the rock on the big slab rock behind the t-post is the prime candidate
one of the suspected rocks-
could be 1 groove/ notch- could be 4...

this is LARGER rock that is pushed off to the east side.
18"x18"X24" with one big groove- closer examination makes it look a little long.

the end of the tape is pointing at it.
here's the 1965 sw witness tree....
we'll be setting the monument back in position per previous survey information. and file a new corner rec with all the data.
here is a question.....
should I just put the same mon back in correct position and note it on the corner rec.
put the same mon. back in position and stamp it "re-set 2013" with my Number and document it on the corner rec?
Put in a New mon with my number & bury the old one and document?
No Bigfoot pics?
I'm disappointed........
Unless you are going to put a "substantially" improved monument, I would rehab (reset) the monument you found. I would have no problem with adding "2013 PLS ####"
to the monument. File the record and move on....
