I was sitting in a meeting room at the Holiday Inn in Charleston, WV, sweating out the second day of the exam. Later that same year I would take the VA exam. Passed them both on the first try.
And May 16 must be a real good day because 46 years ago today I met my wife for the first time. Believe it or not we were a computerized date.
It's been a fun ride! And the best is yet to come.

Have your wife read what you wrote then report back. She could read it differently than what you meant.
Interesting that you would pick that exact day.
I will never forget it. May 16, 1975 was a Friday. I spent the late afternoon/early evening in the University football stadium attending my graduation exercises. Free! Free at last! Sixteen years of school behind me and a bright future ahead of me.
I know that sometimes I'm a little slow, but ....
I've reread & reread my post and just don't see your point. Can you enlighten me or is it just too low down?

"I met my wife for the first time. Believe it or not we were a computerized date.........It's been a fun ride!" (I was reading it that SHE was the fun ride. Not a polite way to put it.) Sorry! Bad boys sometimes think badly.

OK, now I get it. My mind is also frequently in the gutter, but I missed that one.

Don't remember that precise day. but that was about the time I first made PC, while working for B&R on the Exxon Fuels Expansion Project in their refinery in Baytown, TX.
B-)
I was there too (almost). I was with B&R in Pasadena at the Petrolyte plant and at the Goodpasture ship dock in the ship channel (across from the ARCO plant).

How about that?
I was all over the Houston area from June 18-22,1975 while visiting two fellow graduates from a month earlier. One was employed by Exxon and the other was looking for a job. He decided if his wife was moving to Houston to work for Exxon maybe he should go with her. About a year later they moved to Baytown and we traveled there to visit. First time I ever rode on a ferry. The Zoo in Houston was fantastic.

That was also about the time I moved from apartments in Baytown to some in Pasadena on Richey St.
How about that?
Seems like we have been in close proximity at different times.
I lived in an apartment complex just off Red Bluff not too far south of Gilley's (well before Midnight Cowboy).
