I bought a new desk and moved my desktop computer and now I can't get my Trimble TSC3 to connect to Windows Mobile Device Center. Nothing has changed except the physical location of the computer. I've reloaded Mobile Device Center, turned off anti-virus software, turned off the firewall...I'm running out of ideas. I do get an audio confirmation that the TSC3 is connected via the USB cable and a new device shows up in the device screen but no joy with Mobile Device Center. Any suggestions?

TIA,

Doug

I'm not familiar with your specific equipment, but if you are using a usb port it is important that the cable be plugged into the same port in some cases. More than once after rearranging my computer I've had printers, DCs, etc not work correctly until I reinstall drivers or play musical cables till I get them back in the correct order.

Definitely make sure you connect to the right USB port....my DC won't communicate through two of my usb ports (4 available) for some freaky reason.

Have you tried locating the DC in explorer?

Same advice. Just spent two days trying to get GS14 to talk to computers. Worked flawlessly with XP but wouldn’t work with either windows 7 computers. By accident tried usb that usually used for mouse and instant fix. Swapped cables on other windows 7 computer and its working now. Don’t know why.

Thanks for the help gentleman. I got this to work via Bluetooth on my laptop but I'll have to wait till the snow flies to have time to fuss with all the cables on my desktop.

When you connect it up, go to explorer and see if you can see the device. For whatever reason, mine doesn't always pop up, but I can nearly always see the device in Explorer and I use that application over the standard windows mobile anyway.

As others have said, look in Explorer for it.

You did not say what OS the two computers are, but Windows Mobile Device Center is a Windows XP and older OS program. It will not work and is not supposed to work in Windows 7 or 8. But if someone finds a way to make it work, please let me know.
