I recently lost some of the icons on my desktop. Some of the icons went from the normal program icons ot blank icons.

Does anyone know of a trick to reset the icons back to the normal icons?

Thanks,
Jimmy

Sounds suspiciously like a virus to me.

I really think it was something that I did.

I "took ownership" of the C: drive, while trying to fix a permissions error, and it really screwed up alot of stuff. I have most everything working right again, after several hours of research and yweaking, but once I took ownership of the drive, the icons went blank.

The permissions issue I was working on, was when I try to print PDF files of deeds to my jobs folders, I get the constant message that I don't have permission to save to that destination, and asks me if I want to save to the Jimmy folder instead. It is a pain in the rear to save ot one location, and then have to move everything to the proper folder.

Sounds like you might have lost the "association" with the application.

In Windows Explorer, go to
TOOLS
FOLDER OPTIONS
FILE TYPES (TAB)

here you can pick the file extension and change the default application that opens it
